JOHANNA JASKOWSKA, PIONEER IN DIGITAL FASHION AND VIRAL BEAUTY FILTERS
Johanna Jaskowska is one of the most viral digital artists in the world, recognised for pushing the boundaries of beauty and experimenting with digital identity.
She grew up surrounded by a computer and a Dreamcast, with an early passion for video games that soon shaped her creative path. After graduating in Fine Arts in Paris, she began experimenting with VJing and video mapping, exploring the fusion of art and technology from the outset.
In 2019, she gained international recognition with Beauty3000, the first beauty filter on Instagram: a futuristic mask that conquered the world (including the Kardashians). The filter propelled Johanna from just a few thousand followers to more than half a million. That same year, she co-created the first digital haute couture garment sold on the blockchain for $9,500.
Her works, which combine augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and speculative design, question what is real, how we understand beauty once it is freed from the physical body, and what new forms of identity may emerge from it. Her practice draws on technological advances, science fiction cinema, and the universe of beauty.
She collaborates with artists and brands such as Billie Eilish, J Balvin, Lady Gaga, FarFetch, Armani, Givenchy Beauty, Valentino Beauty, Mercedes-Benz, and Nike. She is also co-founder of the Madrid-based studio PATIO, where she explores the intersection of fashion and technology through an experimental and avant-garde aesthetic.
