Sevilla · Video game Design & Development, Virtual Reality in collaboration with the SGAE Foundation
With headquarters in both Seville (Andalusia) and Tenerife (Canary Islands), The Game Kitchen is a video game development studio founded in 2010 with a firm goal: to create meaningful indie games.
Creators of the horror point-and-click adventure _The Last Door_ (2013) and the critically acclaimed videogame _Blasphemous_ I and II (2019-2023), The Game Kitchen highlights Spanish culture and folklore in its works, especially the art and religion of Andalusia. Since 2022, they have been developing _All on Board!_, a virtual reality board game simulator that promises to revolutionise the traditional way board games are played.
In their strong commitment to helping young talents in Spanish game development, The Game Kitchen launched Billete Cohete, an incubator where new generations can grow and develop their projects. Currently, they are working on _Tormenture_, a horror game perfect for retro enthusiasts.
Carlos Viola, the Audio Director, will give this showcase talk. Born in Seville in 1981, he began his musical education at the age of 12 in the folk group “Giralda de Sevilla,” where he played the bandurria and learned Spanish guitar. At 18, he formed an instrumental rock band, and at 20, he specialized in composing soundtracks for documentaries, advertisements, short films, and video games. Between 2010 and 2024, he composed the soundtracks for video games such as “The Last Door” and “Blasphemous” 1 and 2, achieving international recognition and several nominations for Best Soundtrack at national awards.
