And it’s precisely the art of storytelling through illustration that is the main theme of the CHÁCHARA event at OFFF Sevilla 2024, brought to you by Graficatessen and LAB Sevilla.
This year, the exclusive event will spotlight three exceptional talents: Coni Curi, Marta Zubieta, and Antonio Uve. From Argentina to Valencia, artist and illustrator Coni Curi has created a visual universe where the past and present blend into an aesthetic she calls “NeoNostalgia.” Her focus on editorial illustrations, packaging design, posters, and graphic pieces for apparel is characterized by recreating the lo-fi charm of old prints, with a touch of wear that evokes the magic of the past.
Inspired by catalogs, posters, and advertisements from the 40s to the 60s, her work incorporates esoteric and symbolic elements, as shown in editorial projects like Tarot de La Fuerza and Sacred Sisterhood Tarot. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with renowned brands such as Amazon Prime, HBO, Penguin Random House, and Cinzano, offering a unique visual style that plays between nostalgia and contemporary challenges.
With a timeless and creative vision, she continues to redefine the rules of graphic design, offering an aesthetic proposal that captivates with its authenticity and harmony between the vintage and the modern.
Granada-based illustrator Antonio Uve has developed a unique style characterized by vibrant color palettes, simple characters, and a constant touch of humor. Specializing in illustration has allowed him to fully unleash his creativity, giving him greater artistic freedom.
His work ranges from editorial projects to the creation of gifs and animations, with the ability to turn challenging situations into creative opportunities. His joyful and optimistic visual art, featuring characters that seem to come to life in each of his illustrations, is the hallmark of his style.
Antonio has collaborated on a wide variety of projects, from academic institutions to advertising campaigns, always bringing a fun and laid-back approach. His ability to make the ordinary extraordinary has established him as a key figure in contemporary illustration.
Spanish artist Marta Zubieta is redefining contemporary visual art through her unique approach to illustration, graphic design, and muralism. Inspired by a rich mix of references ranging from 90s cartoons, science fiction, and pop-surrealist art to Latin folklore, she illustrates the myths and stereotypes of Generation Z and Millennials.
Her work has earned multiple awards, including the High Art Award, and a grant from the Arts Council UK. She has collaborated with renowned brands and festivals such as Deliveroo, Posca, Glastonbury Festival, and Upfest, among others, and has exhibited in numerous galleries and international events like the Swindon Paint Festival and Nass Festival, where she has demonstrated her mastery in mural art.
With a career spanning from digital art to muralism, Marta Zubieta continues to surprise the art world with her innovative vision and constant pursuit of new forms of creative expression.
