Petra Eriksson says that from an early age she lived in a very colourful world and that, in short, "marked my style, which has a lot of bright colours, but also a little mix between organic shapes and some very graphic flat shapes". Born in Stockholm, where she studied graphic design at the Berghs School of Communication, she lives in Barcelona, where she works as a freelance for national and international media, including The New Yorker, Pinterest and The Guardian. She was one of seven artists approached and asked to reinterpret the iconic Oscar statuette for this year’s 93rd Academy Awards campaign.
His drawings mix flat, geometric and graphic forms with motifs that are much softer and organic. They are realistic, with an implicit message and a very defined style. He is inspired by things that are, or used to be, precious, but are in one way or another a bit broken: "the colour scheme of graffiti, the texture of some kind of mineral in a dusty museum, broken bones, the shape of a stain on someone's pink shirt, slow movies, books and songs about people who, like everyone else, are imperfect".
