Each project that Jean-Paul Frenay leads is a new challenge to reinvent himself. Trained in film directing and cinematography in Brussels, he began his career as a visual effects artist and worked with advertising agencies, directing his own commercial projects with brands such as Nike, Nescafé, Renault and Volkswagen over the last 15 years.
He combines his work with brands with more personal projects, such as the animated short film 'Artificial Paradise, inc' or the music videos for the American band Son Lux. For Offf Barcelona he created the short film 'You Are The Canvas', nominated as a finalist in the Excellence in Title Design competition at the SXSW Film Festival 2016.
He is co-founder of the production company Black Lodge, formed by a collective of artists, producers and directors who develop stories in which they fuse creativity, innovation, experience and craftsmanship, proposing new narrative codes.
He has developed projects for
