Noemí Gimeno has been working as a graphic designer for film for more than twenty years. Her work focuses on creating graphic elements that add realism to sets and enrich the visual narrative of productions. She is especially passionate about period productions and has collaborated on titles such as 'The Central Bank Heist' (2024), 'The Red Virgin' (2024), 'Patria' (2020) and 'The Crown' (Season 3, 2018), where graphic detail is essential to give credibility to the stories on screen.

Laura Millán is an art director and creative with over 15 years of experience in the film industry, specialised in graphic design for sets. She has worked on feature films such as Society of the Snow, While at War, The Queen of Spain, Skins and The Sisters Brothers, as well as series like Patria and Asalto al Banco Central.

In this workshop, you’ll travel back to the 1980s for a day. You’ll design and create a prop from scratch and take it home — discovering firsthand how graphic design becomes part of storytelling.

The workshop is open to both students and professionals in design, film, advertising and audiovisual communication who want to explore this fascinating side of graphic design applied to cinema.

Requirements: intermediate knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, and a laptop with both programs installed.

Chihei Hatakeyama

Creation, production and composition 

A unique opportunity to dive into the sonic universe of one of the most influential artists on the contemporary ambient scene.

Chihei Hatakeyama is a Japanese composer and producer of ambient music, known for his deeply atmospheric and meditative works. Since his debut in 2006 with Minima Moralia (Kranky), he has released numerous albums on labels such as Room40, Home Normal, and his own imprint, White Paddy Mountain, establishing himself as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary ambient music.

His work explores the relationship between sound, memory, and stillness, blending processed guitars, field recordings, and layers of texture that invite contemplation and inner silence.

The renowned Japanese musician will lead a workshop focused on the creation, production, and composition of ambient soundscapes. Through practical examples and a poetic approach to sound, Hatakeyama will share his creative process—from the use of field recordings and digital textures to the construction of contemplative atmospheres.

Participants may join as listeners or, if they wish, bring their own laptops to experiment and create during the session using their preferred DAW.

Lo Siento is a graphic design studio based in Barcelona, founded in 2007 by Borja Martínez. Its philosophy is rooted in creativity, innovation, and constant experimentation, with handcrafted processes as the starting point.

Their multidisciplinary approach allows them to explore a wide range of design fields, including branding, typography, illustration, industrial design, packaging, and art direction, among others.

Lo Siento’s workshop at OFFF Sevilla will be an invitation to rediscover the value of the handmade in an era dominated by artificial intelligence. During the session, participants will explore the full creative process — from sketching and selecting materials to applying artisanal techniques such as collage, embossing, or manual printing.

The goal won’t be to achieve a perfect result, but to understand how imperfection and texture can give rise to an authentic and contemporary visual identity.

At a time when technology delivers highly precise results, Lo Siento proposes a return to origins: thinking with your hands, designing with your senses, and finding in craft a more human form of intelligence.

Volvox Labs is a digital art studio based in Brooklyn that merges the physical and digital worlds to create immersive narrative experiences. The studio brings together designers, engineers, and artists to rethink the way we interact with space.

Inspired by nature, their work develops active digital and physical ecosystems—environments that move, react, and evolve in real time. Their practice spans immersive content, creative technology, interactive architecture, and sound design across fields such as art, music, architecture, and public space.

Volvox Labs will bring an exciting workshop to OFFF Seville. For the past 12 years, Volvox Labs studio has thrived at the crossroads of art and technology, crafting experiences that blur the line between the digital and the physical. Since the beginning, their team has specialized in TouchDesigner as a tool for communicating our concepts and driving the underlying
logic of our experiences.

In this workshop, they'll introduce participants to sensing presence in space using tools like Google MediaPipe and RGB Cameras, to then trigger various reactions, such as sound, video, or generative art. They will briefly touch on stream diffusion and look at how the output from AI can be interactively controlled.

Profile/requirements of participants:
Familiarity with digital media use and practices

Knowledge of general programming practices.
A computer with a working camera
Familiarity with real-time programming is a plus, but not required.
